METAL FABRICATION TECHNOLOGY |
|
Metal Fabrication Technology (MFT) program is focused towards sheet metal, plates and structure fabrication in the engineering and construction field. They not only comprises of cutting , punching, forming and shaping sheet metal used in steel furniture, lighting fixtures, electrical cabinets and switch gears, refrigerators, catering equipment, vending machines and elevators, but focuses as well in the heavy metal plating used in building structure and wall panels, oil and gas, power station, pipeline building in the transportation of liquid and gas , large storage boilers and vessels, platform for oil and rigs and heavy industrial plant. The teaching and training approach of ‘project based learning’ adopted by MFT program includes active participation of students in the learning process and industrial based activities; strengthening of theoretical knowledge with high degree of design and practical work, usage of modern CNC metal fabrication machinery, equipment and state-of-the-art CAD/CAM solutions found in real life work place or industry and wide usage of audio visual as teaching aids
The main objective of the course is to prepare students to the needs and demands of the current and future industry with regards to fabrication, welding, inspection and testing. This will inevitably provide them with a career path most suited to the wide world of metal fabrication industry.
